Terri Klozik is a native Tennessean who was born on December 5, 1954 at Fort Sanders. Her Grandparents, Edith and Glenn Fox, lived and worked in Alcoa. Her Grandfather worked at the Alcoa Aluminum Plant for over 25 years. Her mother, Wilma R. Fox, graduated high school in Alcoa, and her dad, Ellis Lawson from Williamsburg, Kentucky, was in the US Army.
She comes from a long history of courageous family members who served our country by taking up arms to defend and protect our freedoms. This show of heroism and selflessness inspired Terri to enlist in the Air Force in 1973, where she dedicated her life to the service of others.
When assigned to Tinker Air Force Base, Terri was the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of the Professional Military Education School project.
As Project Manager of a 10,000 square foot building, Terri managed everything from the budget to personnel, making sure that this project finished on time and under budget. She also trained volunteers to do some of the work.
At Edward’s Air Force Base, she was in Civil Engineering as the NCOIC of the base's Disaster Preparedness and Civil Engineering Readiness “Prime Beef” teams. She was also put in charge of a SelfHelp store on the base which was underperforming. As the NCOIC she was able to analyze problem areas and implemented an action plan to turn it around in less than six months. This accomplishment prompted recognition from Lieutenant General Henry Viccellio, Commander of the AFMC (Air Force Material Command)
Terri retired in 1996 with over 22 years of service to her country, and her love for Tennessee brought her back home to Maryville, where her desire to serve is still strong. This is why she is running for County Commissioner.
Terri has never been afraid of a challenge and, if elected, she’ll bring a fresh perspective to issues and ask the hard questions. With feedback from you, she will stand up for all citizens of Blount County.
